Repairing your Aran
Holes:
Use a matching wool yarn and a darning needle to create a woven patch over holes, ensuring you anchor into solid fabric.
Snags: Do not cut snagged threads. Instead, use a crochet hook or needle to pull the snag through to the inside of the sweater.
Pilling or fuzzy balls:
Use a razor or specific brush for piling to gently remove fuzz.
When you accidentally shrink your Ara accidentally:
Soak the knitwear in lukewarm water mixed with hair conditioner for several hours to loosen fibers, then gently stretch back into shape on a flat towel.
Stain Removal:
Use cornflour or baking soda on grease stains to absorb oil, then wash gently.
Professional Repair:
Is an option also.
Caring for your Aran
Folding your Aran rather than hanging and airing it regularly will prevent odors occuring and frequent repairs.
